The Piazza di Siena horse show in China: three-year agreement for streaming and digital distribution with DP Group
FISE, the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation, has signed a three-year agreement with DP Group for the exclusive television broadcast of the Piazza di Siena Horse Show in China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. This agreement forms part of a broader framework of institutional relations and collaborations initiated by FISE with the Chinese Equestrian Federation
The Official International Horse Show of Rome – Piazza di Siena, takes a new and significant step in its global promotion, thanks to a three-year agreement with DP Group, which will oversee exclusive digital distribution and streaming of the event for China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
The contract, running from 2026 to 2028, grants exclusive rights for the digital broadcast of the Piazza di Siena Horse Show in the territories mentioned, ensuring continuous, multi-channel coverage via streaming platforms, social media, and OTT services. This represents a strategic move into one of the fastest-growing markets for international equestrian sport. The agreement also reinforces the sporting, cultural, and symbolic value of Piazza di Siena, one of the most iconic equestrian competitions worldwide.
The partnership forms part of a wider set of institutional relations and collaborations established by the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation with the Chinese Equestrian Federation, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed via the Jiangsu Equestrian Association (JEA). This aims to foster development and cooperation between the respective equestrian systems, including technical, sporting, and educational exchanges.
Simultaneously, FISE is in dialogue with the Italian Ministry of Health to identify - together with the relevant Chinese authorities - shared procedures that could facilitate the export of Italian sport horses to China, a crucial step to strengthen international sporting relations and support the participation of Italian riders in major equestrian events across Asia.
The agreement with DP Group thus confirms the Piazza di Siena Horse Show as a global platform of sporting excellence and represents a further element in the international promotion strategy of Italian equestrianism, honouring tradition while looking decisively towards the future.
On the significance of this agreement, Marco Di Paola, President of FISE, stated: "This agreement represents a concrete and strategic step in positioning Italian equestrian sports on the world stage. Broadcasting the Piazza di Siena Horse Show in a key region such as Asia strengthens the prestige of one of our sport’s flagship events and forms part of a broader plan of institutional and sporting cooperation between Italy and China, which FISE is pursuing with great commitment".
Joining him, Matteo Zhi, Lawyer, representing DP Group, commented: "We are very pleased with this agreement, which strengthens our commitment to promoting equestrian sport in China and contributes to enhancing a sector of great interest and potential. The digital and streaming distribution of the Piazza di Siena Horse Show will not only introduce the Chinese audience to the excellence of Italian equestrianism but will also foster broader cooperation between Italy and China in a rapidly growing sector where Italy has much to offer—from technical expertise and animal welfare standards to high-quality equipment design and production. This agreement, in addition to what has already been achieved, marks an important step in opening new opportunities across the entire equestrian supply chain, creating synergies that extend beyond sport to involve industry, craftsmanship, and education".
