For the twelfth consecutive year, the CSIO Rome has honoured the two legendary athletes during the international showjumping competition, with the d’Inzeo family presenting the highly sought-after award to the rider with the highest overall score in the two most eagerly anticipated individual events: the Loro Piana Trophy on Saturday 30 May and the Rolex Grand Prix Rome on Sunday 31 May.

However, this year the special 'Master Fratelli d'Inzeo' prize held particular significance, as it coincided with the centenary of the Rome competition where the two great champions wrote some of the finest chapters in sporting history.

Vogel, who was presented with the award by Cristina d’Inzeo (daughter of Piero) and Guido d’Inzeo (son of Raimondo), as well as the two champions' grandchildren, Victoria and Alexander d’Inzeo, and Beatrice and Gabriele Guarducci, is the third German to win this award, after André Thieme in 2023 and David Will in 2021.

It's a beautiful prize and we will search for a very nice spot to put it at home. It will always be a great, great memory” Vogel said.

Previous winners include the Irish riders Cian O’Connor (2024) and Denis Lynch (2022), the Americans Karl Cook (2024) and Kent Farrington (2019), McLain Ward (2016) and Laura Kraut (2015), the Italian Lorenzo De Luca (2018 and 2017), and the Swede Alexander Zetterman (2014).
