The chestnut-wood fence surrounding the Piazza di Siena oval, worn over time by exposure to the elements, was entirely replaced with a new structure faithfully replicating the original design.

Two years later, in 2022, the removal of the gravel from the inner ring surrounding the oval allowed the extension of the grassy surface by approximately 3,000 square metres, reaching the hedge that originally served as the oval’s only natural boundary. This intervention ultimately made the perimeter fence unnecessary.
