Richard Vogel is no stranger to Piazza di Siena. He was here in 2023. However, after yesterday’s performance in Aachen, he will certainly be in the spotlight.

The current European Champion and third in the world rankings, Vogel arrives in Rome following his success in the Rolex Grand Prix in Aachen. This fantastic victory has taken Vogel straight to his second consecutive GP win (his third in total, all aboard United Touch S) in a major Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping event, following his victory in the Dutch Masters in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

Together with Vogel, his fiancée Sophie Hinners, who came third in the Aachen Grand Prix yesterday, will also be competing in Piazza di Siena. All things considered, they will be a couple to watch. They are tipped to win the Lupa Capitolina, which will be awarded at the Rolex Grand Prix of Rome on Sunday 31 May.

Germany are also among the favourites for the Intesa Sanpaolo Nations Cup on Friday 29th, with Christian Ahlmann and Jörne Sprehe in their squad. However, they will face tough competition from the reigning European champions, Belgium, as well as the USA, who won the 2025 Nations Cup in Piazza di Siena. Brazil, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Mexico, Sweden and, of course, Italy are all well determinated... A spectacular show is guaranteed!
