Rolex Grand Prix: What will the course be like? Vezzani's answer: spectacular.
Receiving compliments from the world's top riders is nothing new for Uliano Vezzani. A chef de piste renowned for the "honesty" of his courses, Vezzani — who is not by chance called "the Maestro" abroad — is a prime example of how Italian professionalism can conquer the international scene. Just yesterday, at the end of a spectacular Intesa Sanpaolo Nations Cup, compliments came from the US team, the winners of this year's edition.
With attention now turning to the Rolex Gran Premio Roma, many are wondering what Vezzani has in store for them. When asked about the courses, the chef de piste, who has been designing courses at the CSIO Roma for 19 years, did not reveal any details, but made it clear what had guided his choices.
"I have designed a Grand Prix that I think is beautiful. I am refining the details, but above all, I was inspired by the quality of the starting field. Let's put it this way: it's the Rolex Gran Prix and there are some big names competing. It will be a fair course. Fair, but one that won't give anything away to anyone. The ground is excellent and offers many options. It will be a good show".
