Born in the world of horses (racehorses for which his father has a passion), Bertram is international show jumping’s enfant prodige.His incredible talent (he has won every championship held in Dublin riding ponies) allowed him to very quickly get to the top (as a 20-year-old he ranked 5^thin the world), a success further accelerated by top instructors such as the Irish international rider Billy Twomey, who found him his first three important show jumpers, Molly Malone, Wild Thing and Romanov. 

There were times in which he would send handwritten letters to the organising committees of shows he wanted to ride in, asking to be accepted and then writing again to express his gratitude. Then, aged fifteen, he left home to settle in Germany, where he started to train with another phenomenal international rider, Germany’s Marcus Ehning.  Fact is that his favourite restaurant is…  Italian!
