In April this year, riding Verdine SZ, Giulia became the first woman to win the Italian Show Jumping Champions on two different occasions. Out of the four consecutive championships she has ridden in the Venetian-born rider has been on the podium three times, winning silver in 2017 and gold in 2016 and 2018. 

Giulia, who has a five year old daughter, is married to Stefano Cesaretto, who is also her trainer and reference point for all things equestrian, and has the name of her favourite horse, Athletica, tattooed on her right arm.

Giulia started to ride at a very young age and has lived among horses since she was born making her debut in national shows when she was 8 years old and in international ones at the age of 15. She rides in all the most important international shows often representing her country.

It has been above all her mother who, together with her brother RIccardo, gave her a passion for riding. She loves breeding young horses and developing their potential and specific characteristics and is convinced that the qualities of a successful rider are sensitivity, great passion and humility.

Her sporting references are her husband and the French rider Michel Robert. She considers her best performance to be her double clear round in the team event at the 2007 European Championships in Mannheim (2007) where she was riding Athletica.

She is very fond of Churchill’s quote‘There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” She also likes reading and going to the cinema.
