Marziani, who has a cheerful disposition strengthened by his Roman accent, started to ride when he was five during a summer holiday. He fell in love with horses and began to “ride seriously” when his aunt and uncle gave him a ‘super pony’ called Irish Bree, with which he made his eventing debut. His heart however, already belonged to show jumping. In addition to competing, he works hard at his stables in Rome where he devotes himself to young horses and his students and is convinced that without making sacrifices and without commitment it is not possible to make it to the very top. It is his opinion that precision and method are the key to having a top stable. He has been a non-commissioned officer of the Italian Air Force since 2012. 

Taking only two deep breaths before entering the arena, Marziani describes himself as a cold competitor, although he remembers that as a child he was very emotional, later managing to channel his anxiety into concentration. With a passion for football and the Lazio team in his heart, while Maradona and Pelè are his heroes, he likes to travel and adores his dogs. He entered the green oval in Piazza di Siena for the first time in 2010, a debut he remembers as if it were a dream and one he lived with his head in the clouds. That said, from then on his feelings left way for as much determination and a desire to rise to the occasion giving his best. From a point of departure it has become a point of arrival. He mentions his parents and team mates as the most influential people in his life and admires John Whitaker’s grit, Giulia Martinengo’s elegance and  Michel Robert’s light touch.
