Born into a family of riders with both his parents having ridden for Sweden at an international level, Douglas first got on a horse when he was five, but only started to ride seriously after finishing high school. In addition to his career as a rider on the Swedish team, he also runs a training and dealing yard (Stall Fulltofta) together with his mother. 

Until he was 12, Lindelow’s favourite sport was ice hockey, but after finishing school he devoted himself to riding fulltime inspired by great athletes such as Marcus Ehning and Rodrigo Pessoa.
