BIO

Biography

The world’s top rider in 2013 and since then high in the ranking for world show jumping, Scott started to ride ponies as a child; he and his sister Lea competed every weekend and then went straight back to school on Monday mornings. Discipline and talent are the ingredients that allowed him to quickly rise to the top of this sport. Intertoy Z and Bon Ami were the horses with which he started to win at important shows, but everything he achieved with Hello Sanctos remains part of the sport’s history. His many prestigious wins include team gold at the 2012 London Olympic Games (5° individually) and his legendary victory in the 2015 Rolex Grand Slam. Brash was the first and only rider in the world to win three consecutive important Grands Prix, Geneva 2014, Aachen 2015 and Calgary 2015. This is a feat no one has yet managed to equal. In 2016, he once again won the Calgary Grand Prix, this time riding Ursula XII, a mare at her first experiences in this class, a result that allowed him to take home record-breaking prize money amounting to US$ 3 million.

It is said that it is ice that flows in Scott’s veins as he always seems cool and collected. Scott always has a well-thought out plan concerning what he must do in the arena, perfect visualisation of the course, although he is also always ready for a split second change of plan as matters do not always turn out exactly as expected. He empties his mind of everything else, watching what other riders do and, above all, asking those who have finished for advice, all things he considers essential.
