Cassio started to ride when he was seven encouraged by his father’s passion and enthusiasm. After a successful career as a junior, trained by the wonderful former rider and internationally famous coach Nelson Pessoa, Cassio arrived in Europe invited by Pessoa and his son Rodrigo to work for them in Belgium. As of 2007 and for just under ten years he represented Ukraine, a nation he rode for in the Olympic Games riding horses owned by the billionaire businessman Oleksandr Onyshchenko. Cassio recently enthusiastically returned to ride for his homeland sponsored by new owners and backed by a Brazilian federation undergoing great change.  

Cassio speaks English, French and Portuguese and studied Economics and Commerce at Sao Paolo University. He also adores football.
