Encore for Italy with Roberto Turchetto in the Selleria Equipe Prize

The Italian flag flies again in the second competition on the opening day of the 88th CSIO of Rome, in Piazza di Siena. Indeed: an all-Italian podium in the No. 2 Selleria Equipe Prize, a two-phase competition (77 starters).

The winner is Roberto Turchetto on My Cool Passion (0; 26.25 seconds in the second phase), defeating Francesco Turturiello on Quite Balou (0; 26.53) by a mere 28 hundredths of a second.

Third place again for another Italian rider, Paolo Paini on Chacolie (0; 27.04).

Turchetto, born in 1978 in Lombardy, is competing in the CSIO of Rome for the fifth time; he made his debut in this arena in 2011. His first significant results at Piazza di Siena date back to 2012 with two second places. Today he scored a second victory after the first one on Topper Z back in 2017.

My Cool Passion is a pretty fast horse" said the rider from Lombardy before the prize-giving ceremony, "but I didn't think he could be fast enough to give me this victory today, as this is the first time he jumps here. My goal for tomorrow is to qualify for the Grand Prix, and, on this basis, we will then decide in which categories we are going to participate on Saturday and Sunday".
